Why Pensacola, Florida might be annoying:

The first European settlement was abandoned after two years due to a hurricane, famine and Indian attacks (1559-61).
It was a part of Spain, then France, Spain again, Britain, Spain once more, the US, the Confederacy, then finally the US again (in that order).
Being on the Florida panhandle, it is prone to hurricanes.
It is where creationist nutjob Kent Hovind lived and ran his theme park.
It is a part of the staunchly conservative, Bible Belt part of the state.
Its beach and tourism industry were hit hard by the BP oil spill (2010).

Why Pensacola, Florida might not be annoying:

It was the first city settled in Florida.
It is home to the US Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron.
The first American Naval air station is located just outside of here.
It is located along Florida's famous Emerald Coast.
Its beaches are known for their pure, white sand.
