He smokes.
He's the only original member of Pulp to remain with the group.
In a now-famous incident, he was arrested after invading the stage at the 1996 Brit Awards to protest Michael Jackson's performance.
Pulp are one-hit wonders in the US with 'Common People.'

Why he might not be annoying
He formed Pulp when he was 15 years old.
He fronted one of the UK's most popular bands of the 90's.
In 1985, he fell 30 feet from a window, and was confined to a wheelchair for 2 months. He continued to perform during that time.
Many praised him for his actions at the 1996 Brit Awards, believing Michael Jackson's performance to be tasteless (the concept being that Jackson was 'healing' a group of poverty-stricken children).
He is producing the soundtrack to and appearing in the fourth Harry Potter film.
