Why they might be annoying
Their nickname is a made-up word.
The existence of the Hamilton Wildcats caused financial hardship for the Tigers (and the Wildcats), so the two clubs merged.
They were the last team to have a winless season in the CFL (0-12 in 1949).
Its stadium during the 1970's was so dilapidated, that American TV stations refused to air CFL games played in Hamilton.
The CFL threatened to fold the franchise in 1995, partly because the team wasn't selling enough game tickets.
They went 1-17 in 2003, setting the record for most losses in a CFL season.
Their uniforms make them look kind of like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Why they might not be annoying
They are one of the most historically significant teams in the CFL.
They are the CFL's oldest franchise, dating back to when they were the Tigers.
They were the first IRFU or WIFL team to win the Grey Cup.
They merged with the Hamilton Wildcats seven years after the Wildcats won a special Grey Cup competition that took place during World War II, during which all the teams of the IRFU and WIFU suspended operations.
This has enabled the city of Hamilton to possess the Grey Cup in every decade since the 1910's.
They have a great rivalry with nearby Toronto.
They play just a short distance from the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
