Why The O.C. might be annoying
There are no black characters on the show.
Benjamin Mckenzie is in his late 20s, but his character is a teenager.
Josh Schwartz considers only the Ryan and Marissa relationship and the Summer and Seth relationship real and any other relationship the characters have are ended within a few episodes.
In one story arc, Julia has an affair with her daughter's ex-boyfriend.
Many lesbian viewers were upset by the way Josh Schwartz used a lesbian relationship for ratings.
The show revived the teenager soap opera genre.
The show's tagline is 'Welcome To The O.C., Bitch.'
Mischa Barton and Benjamin Mckenzie have almost no chemistry and their characters are dating almost throughout the whole series.
Because of the show, an Orange County supervisor wanted John Wayne Airport to be renamed 'The O.C. Airport,' causing negative local reaction.
Why The O.C. might not be annoying
The show was a big break for many of the cast members.
It features music from unknown artists and sometimes have them perform on the show.
It shows that money can't buy happiness.
Rachel Bilson was originally a guest star but her character, Summer, got so popular that she was offered a role on the show.
