Why she might be annoying:

She and director William Desmond Taylor had an affair.
She was upset on finding out that Taylor was also having an affair with young starlet Mary Miles Minter.
Because of her connection to Taylor, his murder ended her career.
That connection also led to many of her movies being boycotted.
The Taylor scandal erupted at the same time her co-star Fatty Arbuckle was involved with the Virginia Rappe scandal.
Even after marriage she continued to be a wild party girl.
She was heavily into drugs. Taylor attempted to get her off the stuff. It was theorized that a drug dealer who didn't want to lose her business shot Taylor.
She was tardy and undisciplined.
In the middle of filming, she took off and flew to Europe.
Charlie Chaplin disliked her.
Her chauffer, used her pistol to shot and wounded a man (December 31, 1922).
