Why they might be annoying:

Joe and Paul fired Mick from the group because he 'drifted apart from the original idea' of The Clash, which soon led to a downhill after they released 'Cut The Crap' which had horrible and poor reviews and sales.
There were rumors that The Clash were going to re-unite after 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' was released in a Levi's commercial and hit #1 on the UK Charts, but they never did.
Mick tried to teach Paul how to play the guitar but it was too difficult for him so he decided to play bass because it's only four strings.

Why they might not be annoying:

They are one of the most influential bands ever and they are of the pioneers of punk rock.
Joe Strummer died at 50 years old from a heart attack. (2002)
Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, Tony Kanal and Steve Van Zandt performed a tribute to them at the 2003 Grammys covering 'London Calling.'
They released a documentary of recording footage and un-seen interviews called 'Westway to the World' which sold well and was award-nominated (2000)
'The Clash' was one of the most selling import albums in the U.S.A.
'London Calling' was rated one of the best albums of the 80's and one of the best rock 'n' roll albums of all time.
Joe said once, 'I think people ought to know that we are anti-fascist, anti-violence and anti-racist. We're against ignorance.'
Paul learned how to play the bass after listening to reggae music and The Ramones' first album.
