Why he might be annoying
In a tape-recorded interview with the Washington Times, he said that Jews 'have a grip on America,' 'have a history of killing black men' and were responsible for 'the majority of wickedness that goes on across the globe.' (1989)
He inevitably complained about his remarks being taken 'out of context,' without explaining what sort of context could possibly make them inoffensive.
Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons called him 'a racist stage prop.'
He complained, 'No one would sign me after that quote unquote Jewish comment,' apparently forgetting that he was signed within a year to Luke Records by 2 Live Crew's Luther Campbell.
Why he might not be annoying
He was critical of Flavor of Love, saying it is degrading of black women.
His home in Atlanta was destroyed by an explosion caused by a gas leak (2008).
After touring the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach with a Jewish student, he said, 'If I knew what I know now, I never would have uttered those words,' adding, 'This could be a process of me maturing.'
