World's first cloned mouse
Created by ‘Team Yana,’ a research group led by Ryuzo Yanagimachi at the University of Hawaii
Cloned using the ‘Honolulu Method’ (insertion of donor DNA into an empty ovum), rather than the earlier method used to clone Dolly, the world's first cloned animal (fusion of the donor cell and an empty ovum)

Why she might be annoying:

She was the first born of 50 identitical sisters, which was too much like creepy sci-fi for some people's tastes.
Her siblings were given numbers rather than names and received little media attention.
One of the scientists involved dismissed Dolly and other early clones as ‘all of these notorious barnyard animals.’
Her remains are on display at the Institute for Biogenesis Research (Honolulu).

Why she might not be annoying:

She had two healthy litters.
She lived to the ripe old age of 31 months (equivalent to 95 years for humans).
She was named for the cumulous cell (a type of cell found in ovaries) she was cloned from.
The technology used to clone her proved far more successful than that used with Dolly.
The ability to make multiple clones of mice is particularly valuable for medical researchers.
It was hoped her successful cloning would attract more biotech research and companies to Hawaii.
