Why he might be annoying
He and his first wife were a 1920's comedy team that ended in divorce.
He had a drinking problem.
He was beaten to death as the results of starting a bar fight with three guys.
Although the act was titled 'Ted Healy and His Stooges,' it was the stooges who gained fame.
He underpaid the three stooges, causing Shemp Howard to leave the act.
Moe requested his little brother Jerome as Shemp's replacement. Ted disliked Jerome and refused to hire him.
It was reported that Moe threatened to quit unless he hired Jerome.
Ted finally agreed to hire him, but with the condition he shaved his head, and used the name Curly. It is believed this was done, to dissuade Jerome from becoming a stooge or at the very least humiliate him.
It backfired, making Curly the most beloved stooge.
Why he might not be annoying
He created arguably the most recognizable comedy troupe.
He and Moe were boyhood friends.
He created the Three Stooges.
