Why The Ten Commandments might be annoying
The commandments are almost impossible to follow and are broken all the time.
Some commandments contradict others, for example if you do not keep the sabbath you are to be put to death.
When Moses brought down the commandments, he saw the Israelites created an idol, and in his anger destroyed the tablets.
Jews have complicated it into 613 commandments to be a Jew. It is not easy being Jewish.
If God ordains free will and then forces commandments, is that really free will?
It forces a belief in the supernatural.
It teaches us to fear God.
It contradicts the first amendment.
The A.C.L.U. won lawsuits prohibiting the 10 commandments displayed in court houses.
Even as the commandments were introduced there were tons of exceptions.
Why The Ten Commandments might not be annoying
It gave us the expression 'written in stone.'
Its inscription penetrates the stone, yet could be read correctly on either the front or back of the stone.
It made a great 1956 classic movie starring Charlton Heston.
Jesus Christ simplified them into 2 commandments - Love God and love each other.
