Why they might be annoying:

They never get their man.
They ironically cause more mayhem than many of the crooks they chase.
Few of the individual actors ever became famous.
Their roughhousing appalled Charlie Chaplin.
Bette Davis was once compared to Slim Summerville, a particularly homely Kop.
Their extreme antics resulted in continual sprains and broken bones.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were Mack Sennett's most successful brainchild.
They virtually invented movie slapstick.
Their comedies were the first to feature car chases.
Much of their material was improvised.
Fatty Arbuckle started out as a Kop.
Film scholars didn't take them seriously until the 1960's.
‘Keystone Kops' has become a byword for official chaos and incompetence.
