Why he might be annoying:

    His first three movie appearances were minor parts in films starring his father.
    In a gimmicky bit of casting, he starred in ‘Young Guns of Texas’ alongside Robert Mitchum’s son James and Alan Ladd’s daughter Alana.
    He said about his recurring role in the ‘Beach Party’ films, ‘It took me four pictures to figure it out. The kids liked Deadhead because they felt superior to me – to him.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He threw javelin on UCLA’s national championship track and field team (1956).
    He was the only one of the ‘Beach Party’ regulars who actually surfed.
    He retired from films in 1970 to become a cattle rancher.
