    His owner never shows her face in his online pics nor in his videos.
    He has a 'biographical 'book and DVD, both released in 2009.

Why he might not be annoying:

    'Maru' is the Japanese word for 'round' and 'circle.'
    He acts foolishly but does so on purpose.
    He has big eyes and cute fuzzy white paws.
    Fans were concerned about him after the March 2011 Japan earthquake but his blog alerted them that he was safe.
    His Youtube videos yielded almost 158 million views by spring 2012.
    Fans love watching pictures and videos of him playing with boxes, napping in places other than his bed, rolling around, eating and just being a cat.
    His first 'biography' and DVD contain English subtitles.
