    Real name: Norman Carter Slaughter
    Oldest of twelve children
    Trademark was his maniacal giggle.

    That damn laugh.
    He was a poor businessman, a theater he was managing in his youth went bankrupt and he suffered personal bankruptcy in his middle age.
    He was a ham on stage and in his movie roles to an indescribable degree.
    He is almost completely forgotten today.
    He was fifty years old before he made his first movie.
    For reasons unknown, he spelled his first name with only one d.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was unpretentious and didn't mind jokes about his roles and would even poke fun at himself in his movies.
    He originated the role of Sweeney Todd in the movies and performed it more than 2,000 times on stage.
    He served in the RAF in WWI.
    He was the first movie villain superstar.
