Why he might be annoying:

At twenty-six, he dated Anna Kournikova when she was fifteen.
He and Anna Kournikova secretly married for a few weeks in 2001, but divorced shortly after.
At one point, his line mates were Viacheslav FetisOV, Igor LarionOV, Vladamir KonstantinOV and Slava KozlOV.
Russian tabloids falsely reported that he married his younger girlfriend.

Why he might not be annoying:

He donated his entire salary from the 98-99 season to support charitable causes that helps autistic and developmentally disabled children via a foundation named after him.
He helped raise an equivalent of $125,000US to provide hockey equipment to needy children in Moscow (2000).
He was part of the first-ever Russian line (Detroit Red Wings) in the NHL.
He doesn't forget where he came from and is grateful for his talent and his fortune.
He is said to be good friends with the other hockey player who later got engaged to Anna, whom she later broke up with.
