Why he might be annoying
He probably was responsible for murdering his brother, Giovanni, and sister Lucrezia's second husband, Alfonso of Aragon.
The Venetian ambassador to the Vatican reported, 'All Rome trembles for fear of being murdered by the Duke [Cesare].'
He had eleven children out of wedlock.
After being scarred by syphilis, he took to wearing a black veil.
Why he might not be annoying
Before his bout with syphilis, he was considered extremely handsome.
He was a patron of Leonardo da Vinci.
He died in battle, reportedly suffering 23 sword wounds before he expired.
He was held up as the ideal ruler in Niccolo Machievelli's 'The Prince.'
