Why she might be annoying:

In tragic irony she died of cancer herself after spending a lifetime searching for a cure for it.
In a world where three movies have been made about the Long Island Lolita/Amy Fisher, Dr. Roberts' life and accomplishments passed without notice by the newsmakers.
Astonishingly she has never received a major award for her work.

Why she might not be annoying:

She dedicated her professional life to finding a cure for cancer.
A major part of her research was spent studying TGF-B, a protein that she discovered could help heal wounds and fractures and block or stimulate cancer.
When a cure for cancer is found, her research will be a major part of the cure.
She died tragically young at age 64.
She kept a blog for the last months of her life detailing her fight for life and demonstrating what true courage is.
