She first gained attention by dancing as a 'Goddess of Health' for quack doctor James Graham.
Before marrying Sir William, she had been his nephew's mistress.
She, William and Nelson lived openly in a menage a trois.
She squandered the money left to her by Hamilton and Nelson.
She died in France while on the run from her creditors.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was a model for several paintings by George Romney and Joshua Reynolds.
She inspired a fashion for a draped Grecian style of dress.
She was a good enough amateur singer that the Royal Opera in Madrid offered to hire her for a season.
Her affair with Nelson was tolerated, if not encouraged, by Sir William.
She stuck by Nelson after he lost an arm, an eye and most of his teeth, so she presumably was not hung up on looks.
