Why they might be annoying
Defensive lineman Lyle Alzado played many of his years as an Oakland Raider while using steroids.
They fired Jon Gruden who ended up leading the Tampa Bay Bucs to beating them in Super Bowl.
During practice, linebacker Bill Romanowski punched tight end Marcus Williams in the eye, causing his left eye orbit to fracture and miss the entire season. The Raiders punished him by suspending him for one game and fining him (2003).
They had the biggest drop by a Super Bowl team in 2003 when they went 4-12 after going 11-5 in 2002.
At-the-time head coach Bill Callahan called his team 'the stupidest team in the league' after a bad game (2003).
Bill would eventually be fired after the season.
Why they might not be annoying
They're one of the most popular NFL teams.
John Madden spent his entire head coaching career with them (1969-78).
They became the first Wild Card team to win a Super Bowl (1981).
They have some of the most devout and diehard fans in the NFL.
They had two of the best wide receivers in NFL history, Jerry Rice and Tim Brown.
They're always among the NFL's best selling merchandise list.
They have a great rivalry with the Denver Broncos and played them almost annually on Monday Night Football.
