Hockey Coach

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was the polar opposite of his father when it came to being an NHL general manager.
He was considered meek and unable to pull off a big trade or an impact signing to better his teams.
He signed both Ryan Suter and Zach Parise to frontloaded long-term contracts, which buried the Wild in salary cap hell for years.
His drafting came into question by hockey pundits, as he was unable to develop any substantial players with his late round draft picks.
He did nothing to improve a Flyers roster that was buried with bad contracts and a poor prospect pool in his four years at the helm, rather make the existing problems worse.
He was fired by the Flyers after he was unable to do anything substantial at the trade deadline a week earlier (March 10, 2023).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of longtime NHL general manager Cliff Fletcher.
He majored in business management at Harvard.
He served on the first management staff in the history of the Panthers franchise.
He earned a Stanley Cup ring as a member of the Penguins front office (2009).
His ascension to becoming an NHL general manager was done on his own accolades, without any help from his father.
He drafted the likes of Mat Dumba and Kirill Kaprizov with the Wild.
He was able to hire big name head coaches such as Bruce Boudreau in Minnesota, along with both Alain Vigneault and John Tortorella in Philadelphia.
