She became Chancellor after she made a deal to keep the opposing party in most of the ministries.
She is aloof concerning economic terminology, confusing gross and net income twice during a debate.
Some feel she is just a German prototype of Margaret Thatcher, as she is a former scientist in charge of a conservative political party.
Why she might not be annoying
She grew up in East Germany.
'Angie' by the Rolling Stones was her campaign theme song.
She is a moderate on social issues like gay marriage.
She is Germany's first woman chancellor and the first woman to rule Germany since Empress Theophania in 983.
She has a doctorate in physics.
