Why he might be annoying:

He risked his life and succeeded in losing it over a stunt.
He was featured on 'Ripley's Believe It or Not.'
His nicknames were 'Thing ' and 'Red.'
His father braved the bottom falls in a barrel, but never went from the top.
He decided a family tradition should be made, so he opted to go over the top in a barrel (so much for traditions).
He was obsessed with filling his father's shoes and exceeding his father's triumphs.
He descended the Falls in a flimsy raft made of thirteen inner tubes tied together with rope and enclosed in a fish net and canvas straps.
His inner tubes started popping before he even reached the Falls.
He was thrown from side to side, visibly slamming into rocks.
His badly bruised body was recovered the following day.
He managed to thwart the police and still draw too hundred thousand spectators.
He reached fame, but creditors seized all of his belongings, including three barrels.
His mother suffered a heart attack the evening after one of his plunges.

Why he might not be annoying:

His father recovered 177 corpses from Niagara Falls dangerous waters.
He aided his father in recovering 117 of the 177 bodies.
Some spectators may not have been able to view his body being slammed against the rocks.
He tried to beat his fathers record of swimming from the American Falls side to the Canadian shore in eleven minutes, but came up short.
A public outcry of his needless death caused the Niagara Parks Act to be instated and fine or arrest anyone caught attempting these dangerous feats.
