Why he might be annoying:

Adolf Hitler personally ordered Skorzeny to rescue Mussolini from prison in the Gran Sasso Mountains. Skorzeny took a contingent of his troops up in gliders and crashed them on the steep rocky slopes surrounding the prison. He and his troops rushed in and stormed the prison, capturing the place without a shot. After finding the room where Mussolini was held prisoner, Skorzeny took him and promptly loaded him onto an aircraft that landed after the assault and flown to Vienna. On the arrival at the Hotel Continental, where a suite had been prepared, they received a hero's welcome and Hitler telephoned to congratulate.
He kidnapped Miklos Horthy, who wanted to surrender Hungary to the advancing Red Army. (1944)
He was assigned the leader of 2,000 English-speaking Germans dressed in American uniforms who attempted to create havoc behind Allied lines in France (1944).
10 days after the war's end, Skorzeny gave himself up to the Americans who had launched a massive search for him. He was to be put on trial and was held prisoner until July 27th 1948, on that day he escaped from Europe to Argentina.
He founded a secret organization which helped some 500 former SS members escape the hunt for nazi war criminals. One of the better known people in the organization is said to have helped was Adolf Eichmann.
One of his post-war activities included his service as an adviser to Gamal Nasser, dictator in Egypt.

Why he might not be annoying:

At a younger age, he competed in sword-dueling. In one match he was cut in the face, and the cut permanently left a large scar.
He eventually settled in Spain and became a successful engineering consultant for many years until his death.
