Appeared on the cover of New York Magazine kissing Melania Trump (then Knauss) for the publication's 2002 Valentine's Day issue
Cover was a recreation of Alfred Eisenstaedt's V-J Day/Times Square Kiss from 1945

Why he might be annoying:

He posed for the 'Firehouse Hunks' calendar three months after 9/11 (but per usual the proceeds went to charity).
He had to be told who Melania during the shoot, recalling: 'The person who was doing my hair and makeup, said, Do you know who that is? And again, I don’t know any models, I really wasn’t into the scene.' (in fairness, she was not yet a known supermodel and wouldn't marry the man she was dating for another three years).
The magazine cover attempted to address the 'consent' problem some feminists had with the original photo by reversing the roles and having the woman 'grab' and forcibly kiss the man instead.
His mom kept a framed picture of the cover in her house for years - until his girlfriend/future-wife jokingly made him replace it with a picture of her.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a part-time model for Abercrombie & Fitch.
He got to kiss Donald Trump's girlfriend! (oh yeah, and a future First Lady).
Did we also mention he said the two dipped and kissed 'a couple hundred times' to get the pose 'just right?'
The New York Mag cover was a tribute to Firefighters and first responders in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks.
As of 2020, he is still with the New York Fire Department, and holds of the rank of a Captain and Battalion Chief.
He was involved in the rescue of a man who fell off a Brooklyn rooftop and dangled by his legs from wires three stories above the ground in 2015, which received widespread media coverage.
Years later, while at Trump Tower on FDNY business, he bumped into the now-FLOTUS, and the two posed for another photo together (just standing next to each other - both now married).
