Best known as 'Alfalfa' in the 'Little Rascals' series

Why he might be annoying:

He found and returned James Robert Parish's dog but Parish refused to give him the offered $50 reward.
They argued leading to Parish shooting him to death.
Parish was found not guilty by reason of self-defense.
Most know him only as his character 'Alfalfa.'
Like many child stars he was not taken seriously when he grew up.
He divorced twice.
There is a dog engraved on his tombstone. It is not known if it is Petey (from the 'Little Rascals'), the dog he returned and was killed for or his own hunting dogs.
Nine years after his death his brother, actor Harold Switzer, killed his girlfriend and himself.
His father and George 'Spanky' McFarland's dad battled which son should get star billing.
He played pranks on the crew and his co-stars.
Darla Hood, who portrayed his girlfriend, found him repulsive.
His trademarks was singing Bing Crosby songs off-key.
His death was overshadowed by Cecil B. DeMille's death. They died on the same day.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a respected hunting guide with clients such as Roy Rogers and Jimmy Stewart.
His best friend was Tommy Bond, the kid who portrayed Butch his 'Little Rascals' nemesis.
Despite George (Spanky)'s dad and his dad feuding over their kid's billing, he and Spanky stayed close friends.
He is the most famous 'Little Rascal.'
Both he and Darla Hood are buried in the Hollywood Forever Cemetary in the Hollywood Hills.
