He (with his brother's assistance) kidnapped his wife and children while armed with a with a buck knife, pepper spray, a flashlight and duct tape (1998).

He lost his title when defending it against Evander Holyfield (November 6, 1993).
In an attempt to fulfill his boyhood dream of becoming a Marine, he signed up for three months of boot camp, but quit after three days.
