While touring Europe, she passed herself off as Spanish.
She was a member of the John Birch Society.
Her views on politics and race were contradictory.

She had an IQ of 185.
She learned to read and write at age two.
She created and arranged hundreds of musical compositions.
She suffered physical abuse at the hands of her crazy mother.
As a child, she wasn't allowed to have friends her own age.
At the New York World's Fair, Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia declared June 19, 1940, 'Philippa Duke Schuyler Day.'
She was fluent in French, German, Italian and Spanish.
She wrote several novels, including one based on her own life.
She died just as she was beginning to find her true place in the world.
