Why Bowling Green, Kentucky might be annoying:

    The provisional Confederate government of Kentucky chose it as their capital.
    A sinkhole opened up under its National Corvette Museum, swallowing eight classic cars (February 12, 2014).
    Two Iraqi refugees were arrested there on federal terrorism charges after attempting to send money and weapons to al-Qaeda (2011).
    Six years later, Kellyanne Conway, in three interviews (with Cosmopolitan, MSNC, and Hardball with Chris Matthews), turned this incident into a fictional ‘Bowling Green massacre of innocent soldiers’ to justify Donald Trump’s ban on travel and immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries.

Why Bowling Green, Kentucky might not be annoying:

    Its Lost River Cave housed the Cavern Nite Club, cited by ‘Billboard’ as the first air conditioned nightclub in the US (1939).
    Since 1981, all Chevrolet Corvettes have been built there.
    ’Forbes’ named it one of the 25 Best Places to Retire (2014).
