Why they might be annoying
The lead singer's pseudonym is Holly Woods.
Considering that most of the band members are really American, it is surprising that they did not become as big a hit in the U.S. (Holly is from Durham, North Carolina. Scott, Niki, and Jimmy are all from Rochester, New York.)
Although they originally wrote and sang 'What About Love?,' music fans will remember the Heart version.
Although the band was named for an eastern Canadian city, their popularity emerged in western Canada.
Why they might not be annoying
They defined Canadian rock during the early 1980s.
Like Michael Bolton and the late Laura Branigan, Holly has a four-octave voice range.
