Why he might be annoying:

He abused drugs and alcohol.
In the early 90's, he was undergoing alcohol treatment.
The hit, 'I Wanna Be Sedated,' was made because he had to be hospitalized after a concert tour for exhaustion.
His look was similar to Howard Stern, although he probably had it first.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a legend, a punk pioneer and one of the most influential people in the rock music industry.
Playing in bands helped him get away from his parents divorcing.
He was known for wearing leather jackets, torn jeans, sunglasses and hiding his face behind a ton of hair.
After The Ramones
broke up, he made occasional public appearances and worked as a radio DJ.
He started working on a solo record, but unfortunately before the recording was finished, he died from cancer and the record was released after his death.
He was tall at 6'3.
He started playing drums at thirteen.
Reportedly, he died when U2's song, 'In A Little While' was on the radio.
The Clash and Sex Pistols both credit him and The Ramones as a source of inspiration over all the years.
A lot of people agree that he's the 'voice of punk rock in America' and a very nice and friendly man.
