They came up with memorable song titles. ('If You Love Someone Set Them On Fire,' 'The Thing That Only Eats Hippies,' 'Taking Retards to the Zoo,' etc.)
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame curator Howard Kramer noted, 'The Milkmen were clever and never too serious.'
Detroit Tiger rookie Jim Walewander's status as a fan of the band was noted on his baseball card.
They broke up partly because Blood developed tendinitis in his hands and could no longer play bass without intense pain.
