    (January 13, 1975- )
    Born in Schenectady, New York
    Founded non-profit Venture For America
Sought 2020 Democratic nomination for president
He campaigned to be president of the United States even though he had no political experience.
He sounded more like a boring college professor than an inspiring politician during his first presidential debate.
He loves doing the math. Literally.
His supporters call themselves the 'Yang Gang'.
He proposed a Freedom Dividend (universal basic income) of $1,000 monthly for every American age 18 and older (even if they were already a millionaire or billionaire).
He does the whole 'spiritual but not religious' thing.
He graduated Columbia Law School and did his undergrad work at Brown.
The fact that he's not a career politician turned some voters on to him.
He was one of the few candidates for any federal office who understood tech issues and the moral dilemmas the US (and world) would face as technology continued to advance.
Whereas some candidates speak in generalities or ambiguities, his website featured over 100 policy proposals.
He says he supports 'human centered capitalism' (though, critics are quick to tear this term apart).
He generated more buzz and enthusiasm from supporters than some of his established Democratic rivals.
