He is best known for starring in two cheesy Hercules movies from the 50's.

Both of his 'Hercules' films were lampooned on 'Mystery Science Theater 3000.'
He was strongly against the use of drugs in bodybuilding.
His wife died from a stroke in 1989.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno have cited him as an influence.
He was the highest paid actor in Europe.
