Why Fish might be annoying:

    It was arguably the most infamous example of a failed TV spin-off (until 'Joey' came along).
    The episodes usually revolved around the kids getting into some kind of trouble.
    The kids were the standard 70's smart ass, 'Bad News Bears' type.
    The show's time slot changed five times in two seasons.
    When the show got canceled, Vigoda did not rejoin the cast of 'Barney Miller.'

Why Fish might not be annoying:

    It was one of the first, if not the first, interracial family sitcoms.
    For a while, Abe Vigoda continued his role on 'Miller' while this show was in production.
    Todd Bridges went on to co-star in a more successful sitcom.
    It will occasionally be rerun on cable or in syndication.
    It was apparently popular enough to have its own tie-in novel ('Fish Strikes Out' by T.J. Hemming).
