Why Oprah Winfrey Show might be annoying
The audience screams like mad whenever a guest comes on stage, and Oprah has to pause for lengthy periods of time and wait for them to shut up.
It gave away $7 million worth of cars to each audience member as part of a promotion by Pontiac, yet they still had to pay taxes on the cars (September 14, 2004).
It chants petty catch phrases ad nauseam, like 'Remember Your Spirit' (so suddenly Oprah is God?).
It will probably never allow David Letterman to appear on the show, despite his frequent pleas to Oprah.
It has an unnecessary spin-off, 'Dr. Phil.'
It often reflects Oprah Winfrey's liberal views on politics.
There are several tie-in merchandising, such as an Oprah Winfrey Magazine.
It is probably the preachiest daytime talk-show on television (maybe even the preachiest show period).
The altruism is a bit revolting.
Why Oprah Winfrey Show might not be annoying
It gets soccer moms to read with Oprah's book club.
Unlike most daytime talk shows, it does not lower its standards and discuss raunchy topics for ratings.
It solves peoples problems sometimes.
It frequently gives hand-outs to the audience.
It has made Oprah Winfrey a fortune.
