    Portrayed Corporal Louis LeBeau in Hogan's Heroes (1965-71) and Robert LeClair on Days of Our Lives (1972-86)
    Appeared on Broadway in 'New Faces of 1952'
    Appeared in the films 'Thief of Damascus' (1952), 'New Faces' (1954) and 'The Hindenburg' (1975)
    Wrote the autobiography 'From the Holocaust to Hogan's Heroes' (2001)
    He began a singing career at age 12.
    His big break in America occurred when he got a spot on 'The Colgate Comedy Hour' through Eddie Cantor, whose daughter he happened to be dating (and later married).
    He was fined $610 after being arrested for indecent exposure (1994).
    He and twelve members of his family were sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp (1942); he was the only survivor.
    At the end of the war, he sang at a jazz concert for the American GIs who liberated the camp.
    He began speaking about Buchenwald through the Simon Weisenthal Center outreach program, noting 'For 36 years I kept these experiences during the war locked up inside myself. But those who are attempting to deny the Holocaust, my suffering and the suffering of millions of others, have forced me to speak out.'
