U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (April 6, 1956- )
    Born in Waterloo, Iowa
    Birth name was Michele Amble
    Represents Minnesota's 6th District (2007-2015)
    Republican

Why she might be annoying:

She worked as a tax attorney for the IRS.
As a member of the board of directors for the New Heights Charter School, she banned an in-school screening of Disney's 'Aladdin' because it promoted witchcraft and paganism.
She ran for the Stillwater school board promoting the teaching of intelligent design.
She belongs to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, which teaches that the Catholic Papacy is the Biblical Anti-Christ.
She claimed 'God called me to run' for Congress.
She claimed to have seen plans to partition Iraq to create a Iranian-controlled 'terrorist safe haven zone.'
She voted against extending the Protect America Act (PAA), then wrote an op-ed piece arguing that the PAA should have been passed and blaming Democrats for its defeat.
During an appearance on Hardball, she called for an investigation of Congress to identify 'liberal, leftist, possibly anti-American' members (October 17, 2008).
The next guest, Nation editor Katrina vanden Heuvel, commented, 'I think what we just heard was a Congresswoman channeling Joe McCarthy.'

Why she might not be annoying:

To pay her college tuition, she worked in Alaska gutting fish.
As a Minnesota state senator, she proposed amending the state constitution to adopt a 'Taxpayers Bill of Rights.'
She called for a full hearing concerning President George W. Bush's troop surge, saying 'I don't believe we have all of the information in front of us.'
In addition to raising their five biological children, she and her husband have taken in 23 foster children over the years.
She won the (overhyped) Iowa straw poll at the Iowa State Fair (August 13, 2011).
