She began performing as a child with her parents, 'The Dancing Zerbies.'
Early during the filming of 'True Grit,' she angered John Wayne by criticizing the Green Berets (who happened to be the subject of the Duke's previous film).
Despite making a splash in 'True Grit,' her career quickly fizzled.
She has been married five times.
Her marriage to actor James Stacy lasted just over a year, while her marriage to Rad Fulton lasted a month.

Acting coach Tony Barr initially wanted to reject her for being too young but was so impressed by her audition that he accepted her into a class for professional adult actors.
She won a New York Drama Circle Award for her performance on Broadway in 'The Porcelain Years.'
She teaches acting classes for UCLA's extension program.
