Why Prague, Czech Republic might be annoying:

It was a major slave market during the 10th century.
During Easter, the city's clergy declared that Jews had desecrated the Eucharist and encouraged mobs to burn the Jewish quarter, killing most of the city's Jewish population (1389).
Its people seem to have a thing for throwing authority figures out of windows, with 'defenestrations of Prague' including seven city councilors killed by followers of Jan Hus (July 30, 1419) and three Catholic regents thrown from Prague Castle (May 23, 1618), an incident that triggered the devastating Thirty Years' War.
It became a lot less ethnically diverse during WWII, with its Jewish population fleeing or being killed in the Holocaust and its German population fleeing or being forced into exile at war's end.
Its 'Prague Spring' rebellion against Communism was crushed by the Soviet Union (1968).
It was a site of anti-globalization protests that turned violent (2000).
It withdrew a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics due to low political support (2009).

Why Prague, Czech Republic might not be annoying:

It is the site of the oldest university in Central Europe, Charles University (1347).
It was the central focus of the non-violent Velvet Revolution that overthrew Communism in Czechoslovakia.
Its old city was largely undamaged in WWII, making it a popular location for making period films, such as 'Amadeus.'
Its historic center was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site (1992).
It was the first Eastern European city with a restaurant to receive a star from the Michelin Guide.
The Prague Zoo was listed as one of the world's ten best in Forbes Traveler magazine (2008).
It has become one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations, with over 4 million visitors a year.
