Why he might be annoying:

He was so hated as a wrestler and a manager that he's received death threats, been dosed with acid and has been stabbed 21 times.
He's said that when he looked out in the audience he saw nothing but idiots.
He said he didn't care much for any of the other wrestlers because as far as he was concerned, there was only one wrestler: Him.
He was called 'The Vampire' because he would bite into wrestlers and make them bleed with his teeth that he would file to make them sharper.
He was grumpy in the dressing room and would chase out kids who didn't belong there, even Andy Kaufman, although they later became friends.
His often called people 'pencil neck geeks.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the US Navy during World War II.
He was involved in wrestling for over 65 years.
He started wrestling when it was largely a sideshow and ended his career when it was a worldwide phenomenon, a feat few people have been able to do.
He was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1995.
He was one of the first inductees of the Wrestler-Observer Hall of Fame.
PWI named him one of the 100 Greatest Wrestlers of the Millennium.
He received PWI's Editor's Award in 2000, which is basically a lifetime achievement award.
'Breakfast with Blassie' is a cult classic, featuring his infamous line, 'What the hell ever happened to the human race?'
He was probably the only old-time wrestler who still watched today's product and cheered for today's wrestlers.
He passed away at 85 from heart and kidney problems just three weeks after appearing on Raw.
