Why he might be annoying
He dropped out of Asbury College in the early 1950s.
He's starred in lots of sappy Disney films with most of the attention focused on an animal (or a white VW).
Slated to star in the Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical 'Company,' he was quickly replaced after opening night (1970).
After portraying Watergate dirtbag turned born-again Christian Charles Colson, he became born-again himself.
Why he might not be annoying
He is an accomplished blues singer.
After performing as St. John in a successful one man show 'St. John in Exile,' he was asked to reprise the role in film - to critical praise.
He was flexiable enough to act as a villainous vet in 'Beethoven.'
He's been in several Broadway productions, including a revival of 'Company,' fairing better than his first go-around (1993).
