    Born in Columbus, Ohio
    Principal owner of the Buffalo Bills (1960-2014)
    Co-founder of the American Football League.
    Has the team stadium in Orchard Park, New York named in his honor
    Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2009)
    He initially wanted to place his AFL franchise in Miami, but was turned down so he opted to settle on Buffalo.
    He watched his team make four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, only to lose them all.
    He was extremely brash and stubborn.
    He watched his team turn into a gong-show operation, following the retirement of franchise legend Jim Kelly.
    When he felt he could not turn a profit in Buffalo, he worked out an agreement for the Bills to play one regular season home game in Toronto over a five year period.
    He served as a minority owner for the Detroit Lions prior to owning the Bills.
    He is credited with saving the AFL, after he loaned money to two other clubs to prevent them from folding.
    He was successful in petitioning the AFL to postpone its Sunday games, following the assassination of John F. Kennedy (1963).
    He successfully helped broker the deal that saw the AFL merge with the NFL.
    When the naming rights deal with Rich Products ended, the city of Orchard Park renamed the stadium in his honor.
