Why he might be annoying:

    He created a conflict of interest by serving on the board which was looking at building a new arena while playing for the Jets at the same time.
    He turned down a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
    Despite retiring from the NHL, he came out of retirement and played in Germany the following season.
    He spent the majority of his career on frugal Jets teams.
    He unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Canadian House of Commons in a Winnipeg riding (2008).

    He spent his entire NHL career with the Winnipeg Jets.
    He was considered one of the NHL's most classiest interviewers.
    He ranks among the top five in team scoring categories (pre-Phoenix).
    He had his jersey #25 retired by the Jets, prior to the franchise's move to Phoenix.
    He, along his family, started the Amadeus Steen Foundation in honor of his late infant son, who passed away from natural causes.
