He did not receive an adequate story arc.
His unanimous ouster on Day 3 marks the first time ever that the oldest contestant of the season was the first one gone.
He enjoys golf.
He lists 'Titanic' as one of his favorite movies.
One of his favorite breakfasts is cold rolled Irish oatmeal.
He resembles Jimmy Carter.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the U.S. Marines.
Fortunately, he achieved one huge victory during his time on Survivor XI: his tribe easily won the better of the two camps.
He climbed Mount Huena in Peru in April 2004.
He has been married to the same woman for more than 40 years.
He lists her 'knock-off recipe of Doubletree Cookies' as his favorite cookie.
He prefers red wine to beer.
He was one of the four men in his tribe that fell ill shortly after the reward challenge that entailed teams to trek for 11 miles to reach their destination.
He got voted out because, along with his illness, he injured his shoulder.
