Why they might be annoying:

Ware and Marsh left the band in 1980 to form the failed band 'Heaven 17.'
Lead singer Philip Oakey had pierced nipples in the 1980's.
Phillip Oakey wanted a haircut similar to a woman's that he met on a bus.
Today Oakey shaves has head because of a reseeding hairline.
Marsh used to wear women's tights, a 13 amp plug around his neck and a baked bean tin on his head.
Oakey used to wear eye shadow, eye liner, lipstick and large women's earrings (1980's).
Susanne Sulley and Joanne Catherall wore fake beauty marks on their faces.
Before joining the band, the two females (Sulley and Catherall) had no knowledge of the music business and had never sung professionally.
Sulley and Catherall still wear a lot of makeup.
Oakey had a nervous breakdown (1990's).
Oakey developed a habit of throwing knives up in the air and catching them by the handle.
    Oakey is a compulsive hoarder.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were one of the first groups to use the synthesizer.
The band enjoys making music and it would take bankruptcy for them to quit.
