TV Series
    (October 7, 1996- )
    Created/Produced by Bill O'Reilly
    Aired on Fox News Channel
Titled 'The O'Reilly Report' from 1996 to 1998
Often known simply by the name of 'The Factor'
First guest was General Barry McCaffrey, then the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy under the Clinton Administration, better known as the 'Drug Czar'
Guest hosts have included Laura Ingraham, Mike Huckabee, Juan Williams, Monica Crowley, Eric Bolling, and Greg Gutfeld
New York City-based nightly cable news talk-show hosted by TV veteran journalist Bill O'Reilly, who conducted one-one-one interviews, typically with newsmakers, political pundits, celebrities, or Fox News Channel personalities
Caution! You are about to enter the no spin zone (annoying as hell...)
Its host has a nasty habit of talking down to his viewers in his opening monologue segments.
The show is divided into segments with annoying, often unnecessary, titles ('Pinheads and Patriots,' 'Truth Serum,' 'Barack and a Hard Place,' etc.)
Its host tends to talk over and interrupt his guests, or demean them if they disagree with him.
Specifically, during a 2011 segment, Gov. Sarah Palin politely objected, saying 'up here in Alaska, we have the four-second delay, so it's not an easy exchange to try to get my point across to you if you interrupt' (O'Reilly was visibly annoyed and she would cease to be a regular guest on the program).
Michelle Malkin had a semi-regular gig guest hosting the show, until it became clear that she was tougher, smarter, and more fierce with guests than O'Reilly was, at which point her appearances became less frequent.
Its kind of hard to determine exactly where the show 'crossed the line.' Could it have been when O'Reilly got in the face of Jeremy Glick, whose father died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, and yelled 'I have done more for the 9/11 families than you will ever HOPE to do, so you keep your mouth SHUT' back in 2003?
Possibly could it have been, after years of promoting the nickname 'Tiller the Baby Killer' for abortionist George Tiller (even correcting people who said it was 'Tiller the Killer'), he balked at the suggestion that the term was offensive, after his murder by vigilante Scott Roeder in 2009?
Of course, many believe that it was O'Reilly's bitter response to President Obama's reelection in 2012, chalking it up to the fact that the country 'isn't the traditional America anymore' and lamenting tearfully that 'the white establishment is now the minority.'
Or maybe, it was when O'Reilly zeroed in on the family of recently released POW, Bowe Bergdahl, accused of deserting to the enemy, by pointing out that his 'Taliban-language' Pashta-speaking father 'looks like a Muslim' because he sported a gritty 'Duck Dynasty' style beard in 2014?
Then again, just maybe, it might have been when allegations surfaced about O'Reilly fabricating stories about covering the JFK Assassination, combat in the Falklands War, and the murder of four missionaries and nuns in El Salvador, prompting O'Reilly to vocally threaten journalists questioning him about it and telling them they would be on his 'kill list' in 2015...
Its host has exhibited an affinity, bordering on obsession, with combating 'gangsta culture,' most prominently Beyoncé, for some reason (going so far as to ask White House advisor Valerie Jarrett about it, of all the things he could/should have asked).
O'Reilly also frequently uses the program to plug his crudely titled, usually factually challenged 'Killing...' book series (Lincoln, Kennedy, Jesus, etc.). Following the release of 'Killing Reagan,' a heated segment between the host and commentator, George Will, went viral when the host repeatedly labeled him a 'liar' and a 'hack' for vocally criticizing his depiction of the former President (Nov. 2015).
    It is highly entertaining.
It peaked at 3.1 million viewers, in 2009, becoming the #1 cable news show for 106 consecutive weeks.
It popularized the term 'pinhead' again.
It unintentionally generated free publicity for Lupe Fiasco and Ludacris.
As if Fridays couldn't get any more special, viewers had Geraldo's special weekly guest spot to look forward to!
Stephen Colbert readily admitted to stylistically modeling his Colbert Report on O'Reilly Factor.
A series of contentious, if humorous, debates between O'Reilly and Daily Show host, Jon Stewart, went viral on YouTube and social media, prompting them to reunite for at least two more high-profile, 'ratings gold' debates on hot-button issues.
The show's host has been known to wipe the floor with Bill Maher on the occasion that he ventures into their territory.
SNL comic, Dennis Miller and comedian Adam Carolla were granted their own periodic segments, 'Miller Time' and 'Rollin' with Carolla.'
It was one of the main venues that brought Megyn Kelly to people's attention (she was one of the only personalities who could cross him without getting bowled over).
It is loathed by liberal viewers despite the fact that, ironically, conservatives have accused O'Reilly of being deferential and accommodating to liberal Democrat guests, including President Obama and Hillary Clinton.
A 2013 episode with former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown aired on April 1st to disastrous reviews leading Rachel Maddow to openly wonder if it was meant as some April Fool's Joke (they insisted it wasn't).
The show may have been unfairly pinned as complicit in the death of Dr. George Tiller (classic 'fire in a movie theater' case of the right to say it vs. the practicality of saying it; he could have just called him an asshole).
