Why he might be annoying:

Despite decades of extraordinary work on TV, in the movies, and on Broadway, he has never been able to breakthrough to stardom.
He has never won or been nominated for a major award for his acting.
He has repeatedly starred in TV series that flopped.
He made his Broadway debut in 'Hair.'
He is sometimes mixed up with fellow actor, Philip Akin.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has a very down to earth view of acting and is quoted as saying, 'Basically, the actor's job is to pay attention to the script.'
He once said, 'When I started off many years ago, I made a determination that there were certain roles I didn't want to play' and he has for the most part eschewed typical 'black' parts like hoodlum, pimp, jive talking sidekick and portrayed intelligent (often doctors) and distinguished characters.
    He had a dazzlingly smile.
As of 2011, he'd been married for almost thirty years.
He has a tremendous work ethic; sometimes appearing in up to four movies in a single year and has worked on two different TV series at the same time!
He received NAACP Image Awards for his work on the TV series 'Equal Justice' and 'Tribeca.'
Popular in the science fiction community for his work on diverse projects such as Eureka and T2, he cheerfully attended science fiction conventions where he was very well received.
