Why he might be annoying
They have just one major hit, 'Hey Man, Nice Shot.' Looks like a one hit wonder.
'Hey Man, Nice Shot' was written commemorating the public suicide of R. Budd Dwyer.
The group was a duo, but Liesegang's departed in 1997.
'Hey Man, Nice Shot' was one of the many songs to make Clear Channel's 'no-play' list after the 9/11 attack.
They are disliked by industrial purists, who insist that it is inaccurate to label the band as 'industrial.'
Some of the members smoke.
Why he might not be annoying
In response to the controversy over 'Hey Man, Nice Shot,' the band said: 'It is not a celebration or glorification of taking one's own life. The phrase 'hey man, nice shot' is not a reference to the final act itself, but rather an expression of guts and determination of a person standing up for what they believe is right. We are extremely sensitive and respectful to the family and friends of Mr. Dwyer.'
Richard Patrick and Brian Liesegang were members of Trent Reznor's touring band before forming Filter.
Richard Patrick is the brother of actor Robert Patrick.
Their song 'Captain Bligh' was written in tribute to Trent Reznor.
