Why he might be annoying
He was a member of the Nazi Party.
Appropriately enough, he was typecast as Nazis and other villainous Germans.
He was tall and fat.
His birth name was Karl-Gerhart Froeber, but he changed it to 'Gert Fröbe,' as if that were somehow more accessible.
Although he played the role of Goldfinger, his English was so incomprehensible that it had to be dubbed.
Why he might not be annoying
Although a Nazi Party member, he also sheltered Jews from the Gestapo.
He was known as a jolly guy.
He was an excellent violinist.
He beat out the acclaimed stage actor Theodore Bikel for the part of Goldfinger.
