Its peace agreement with the NL led to the forming of the October tradition known as the World Series.
It won the first World Series (Boston Pilgrims, 1903).
Its teams have won the majority of the World Series titles.
Careers of hitters have been extended by becoming the DH on their teams, since they don't have to field.
They won the first three 'this time it counts' All-Star Games, giving its teams home-field advantage in the World Series (2003-05).
Roger Maris' AL-record of 61 home runs survived the steroid era of the late 1990's/early 2000's.
It is home to baseball's (and American pro sports') most successful franchise, the New York Yankees.
